LIULI LIVING

Why start by designing a coffee table?

LIULI Studio launched its first sustainable furniture series during the United Nations' International Year of Glass, highlighting glass's role in science and culture. Partnering with experienced furniture manufacturers and supported by Taiwan's DFS(Design for Sustainability) program, LIULI Studio crafts eco-conscious tables from recycled crystal glass remnants in order to cut carbon emissions through its refined manufacturing process. This initiative demonstrates a commitment to sustainable practices and innovation. Each piece blends functionality and artistic elegance, illustrating LIULI Studio's leadership in sustainable high-end products.

Form and Design

Why does the project look the way it does? How is it made regarding execution/build/manufacturing/production?

Distinct from conventional glass tables, this coffee table series showcases a rare crystal glass top that captures the interplay of light, color, and bubbles. Its innovative design combines crystal glass and wood via a hidden mortise and tenon structure, enhancing light interaction and providing a suspended visual effect. This maximizes light transmittance and preserves the aesthetic integrity of material fusion, creating a multi-layered visual experience that makes this table an elegant focal point in any setting.
